Syntax Class Fall 2008
TypeCraft provides an interface for morpho-syntactic analysis which can be used by all participants in the class, and a wiki forum where we can explain, question and discuss proposals by ourselves and others. The present page serves as the wiki forum. A typical exchange may be: An example does not quite fit the annotation principles we have so far looked at. To present the case, you show the annotation and explain where the problem is. You or others in the group may have suggestions as to how this should be dealt with, and you can conduct a discussion like on any other wiki page.
Technically, there are two steps to be performed: 1. Making an annotation. 2. Placing the annotation on this page.
For instructions, click on 'How-To-TypeCraft' on the menu right to the left of this page.
For example, you have seen on the Gloss menu that one can annotate a word as 'subject' or 'object'; but when the word is a compound, in which of its parts would one put the tag? So you annotate and glue in the following example, and invite a discussion/quest how to do a 'subject' annotation for such a case.
