PhD student at University of Amsterdam under supervision of dhr. prof. dr. L.W.M. (Rens) Bod of Computional and Digital Humanities (University of Amsterdam) and with co-supervisor Dr. Tom Cheesman, Reader of German, Languages, Translation And Communication, Swansea University.
My research is an Algorithmically Assisted Cultural-Historical Study comparing multiple retranslations into English of the Hebrew "Haggadah" a text read out by Jews on Passover Eve in family setting. The first English translation was published in 1770 and ever since hundreds of variant English translations have appeared. A large quantity of these are being digitized by me and I am looking into various techniques to compare the differences and visualize the results.
