I finished my Bachelor's degree at the University of Burundi, Department of the English language and Literature in 1998. After that I taught English for one year in a public secondary school and then joined the university of Ngozi(Burundi)as an assistant lecturer. In 2001, I was hired at the University of Burundi as an assistant lecturer in the above mentioned Department where I taught language development courses such as writing, listening comprehension,...In 2007, I got a government scholarship that has enabled me to pursue my graduate studies at Makerere University.Now I have just completed my M.A in linguistics. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD program in Linguistics. When I finish my doctorate, I intend to teach Linguistic courses at the University of Burundi and carry out research using the corpus-based approach.I am very much interested in Applied Linguistics and Sociolinguistics.
