My name is Miaomiao Zhang and I come from China. I received my B. A. in German in 2005 and M. A. in German literature in 2008 at Xi'an International Studies University in China. Besides my mother tongue Chinese Mandarin, I can also English, German, Swedish and Norwegian. Because of my love to languages, I decided to dedicate myself to Linguistics. Now I am a master student majoring in linguistics at the department of Language and Communication Studies of Norwegian University of Science and Technology.My interest is in the field of the Description and Documentation of Chinese mandarin and dialects. Prof. Dorothee Beermann and Prof. Lars Hellan are supervising my Master thesis with the focus on the SVC, topic prominence, coverb and aspects in Chinese Mandarin.
Certainly, syntax is not the only interest for me. Besides, I hope I can do some research on the field of pragmatics, semantics, natural language processing, machine translation and computational linguistics.
