My name is Miaomiao Zhang and I come from China. I received my B. A. in German in 2005 and M. A. in German literature in 2008 at Xi'an International Studies University in China. Besides my mother tongue Mandarin Chinese, I can also English, German, Swedish and Norwegian. Because of my love to languages, I decided to dedicate myself to Linguistics. Now I am a master student majoring in linguistics at the department of Language and Communication Studies of Norwegian University of Science and Technology.My interest is in the field of the Description and Documentation of Mandarin Chinese and dialects. Prof. Dorothee Beermann and Prof. Lars Hellan are supervising my Master thesis with the focus onSerial Verb Constructions in Mandarin Chinese.The research tools include TypeCraft and LKB,the relevant frame work includes HPSG and LFG.
I hope I can also do some research on the field of pragmatics, semantics, natural language processing, machine translation and computational linguistics.
