A. in German literature in 2008 at [http://www.xisu.cn/English/ Xi'an International Studies University] in China. The interest of my research lies in [[Mandarin Chinese]] with theoretical supports from the sub-fields:semantics, syntax, pragmatics and phonology. Prof. [[User:Dorothee|Dorothee Beermann]] and Prof. [[User:Lars|Lars Hellan]] are supervising my Master thesis with the focus on[[Serial Verb Constructions in Mandarin Chinese]].The research tools include the online linguistic database with functions of languages documentation and description (LDD) [http://typecraft.org/tc2wiki/Main_Page TypeCraft] and the linguistic knowledge builder [http://wiki.delph-in.net/moin/LkbTop LKB],the relevant theoretical frame work includes [http://www.ling.ohio-state.edu/research/hpsg/ HPSG] and [http://www.essex.ac.uk/linguistics/external/LFG// LFG]. Besides, the theories of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependency_grammar DG], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relevance_theory Relevance Theory] and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimality_theory OT] will also contribute to my academical research.

My name is Miaomiao Zhang and I come from China. I received my B. A. in German in 2005 and M. A. in German literature in 2008 at Xi'an International Studies University in China. Besides my mother tongue Mandarin Chinese, I can also English, German, Swedish and Norwegian. Because of my love to languages, I decided to dedicate myself to Linguistics. The interest of my research lies in Mandarin Chinese with theoretical supports from the sub-fields:semantics, syntax, pragmatics and phonology. Prof. Dorothee Beermann and Prof. Lars Hellan are supervising my Master thesis with the focus on Serial Verb Constructions in Mandarin Chinese.The research tools include the online linguistic database with functions of languages documentation and description (LDD) TypeCraft and the linguistic knowledge builder LKB; the relevant theoretical frame work includes HPSG and LFG. Besides, the theories of DG, Relevance Theory and OT will also contribute to my academical research.

By the way, if condition permits, I hope I can dedicate myself to developing Mandarin grammar with the electronic tool LKB. I also hope to do some research on the field of natural language processing, machine translation, computational linguistics and artificial intelligence in the future.
